Where are we from?

Our association was founded in 1992 to support people in need during the Balkan wars.

When it became clear in 2014 that more and more refugees were coming to Europe, the “Round Table/Working Group on Refugees” initiative came into being. In order to give our activities an organizational basis, the association was reactivated.

“Menschen Helfen e.V.” is based in Kierspe, is recognized as a charitable organization and is funded by the Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees and Integration of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The association is financed by membership fees and donations. Of course, he is entitled to issue donation receipts.

How can you help us?

If you don’t have time:

Donate well-preserved furniture and household items that we can use to equip apartments for refugees.

We are also happy to take over bicycles that are repaired as in our workshop. They enable people to be more mobile.

Monetary donations are also needed because we incur costs at various points. We appreciate any amount that is made available to us.

If you have time:

There are many ways to get involved with us! Depending on your time, skills and interest, you can

• • Accompany people to visit authorities and fill out forms with them
  • as a “runt” look after refugees and help them with their integration in Germany
  • cooperate in the provision of German courses
  • support the team of the bicycle workshop with the repair
  • help in the furniture warehouse with the acceptance and distribution
  • Organize meetings and events to get to know each other better
  • …and much more!

What do we want to do?

There are also people in our city who need help – whether they are refugees from crisis areas or fellow citizens in need. We want to help them with words and deeds to solve their problems.

We hope that this will not only happen for those in need, but if possible together with them in order to promote human interaction.
